Wheatley Hall Road, Doncaster
The regeneration of the former McCormick Tractor site into a mixed-use major development will create a range of opportunities for residential, retail and employment alongside the riverbank and Wheatley Hall Road.
Home of the former McCormick Tractor factory, JRP worked alongside Harworth to secure outline planning consent for the 112-acre industrial site to deliver a mixed-use scheme that will comprise 600 new homes and 200,000 sq. ft of commercial space.
The masterplan produced capitalises on the site’s prime road frontage where the proposed commercial and retail uses will be focussed, in addition to positioning the residential plots alongside the river frontage to create a desirable waterside living location.
In 2019, JRP were then commissioned to design and deliver the detailed planning consents for the first two serviced residential plots on behalf of Barratt Homes and Taylor Wimpey to respectively build out 191 and 188 two- three- and four-bedroom homes. These works are currently ongoing on site.
In 2020, JRP were commissioned to secure planning consent of a Costa Coffee drive-thru unit on one of the prime commercial plots. The 1,800 sq.ft unit was let to Costa which opened for trade in November 2020.
Also in 2020, Erindale secured to adjacent prime commercial plot, who again commissioned JRP to secure the approval for a Burger King drive thru unit. Erindale are now on site which is anticipated to open to the public in Spring 2021.
